We offer a variety of walking tours that cover a broad amount of Charleston's history. Our itineraries are suitable for the 1st time visitor, 1000th time visitor, or local resident. All you have to do is want to learn more about this great city. We can also develop a custom route for you and your group. Please email use at brian@learncharleston.com to set up a consultation.
At the present time, all of our learning tours start at the Shepheards Tavern marker at the corner of Church and Broad Streets (46 Broad Steet). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time so that we can check in. If you have any issues finding the start, or running late, please call us at 843-557-7781.
The weather in Charleston can be a little unpredictable. Please ensure you check the forecast and dress appropriately. Unless severe weather occurs, we will proceed rain or shine so please bring rain jackets or umbrellas as needed. We will be walking and stopping at key places to learn together, so wear comfortable shoes that will be good to walk a few miles over the course of two hours. You are encouraged also to be bring a water bottle so that you stay hydrated.
Yes, all of our tours are guided by our knowledgeable, licensed, and experienced guide. We do this for our love of history and this city, with its storied and complicated past. Our guarantee is always that you will learn something new with us, and have a fun the process.
Unless otherwise stated in the description or booking details, all tours are 120 minutes or so. We will move at a pace best for the group and take breaks as needed, but most of the routes move through the Old and Historic district, which is largely residential. Custom routes will also vary in time and distance, but will be discussed with the customer prior to ensure comfortable with the distance and timing.

Standard (ages 13 and up): $35.00
Young Learners* (ages 6-12): $20.00
Active Military, Veterans, Retired Military (with ID): $14.00
*Children under 6 are free
We accept payment via secured link that will be provided at time of reservation confirmation.
Unless there is extreme weather that warrants seeking shelter, we generally will proceed in light rain and other inclement weather. If there is a rain in the forecast, we will send out a note to the email address used to book with a reminder to dress appropriately. If we do need to cancel due to severe weather, we will attempt to book you at a later date. If you are visiting us and rescheduling is not possible, we will issue a refund.
We value your privacy, and your personally identifiable information (PII) very highly. We limit the collection of any PII to only what is needed to ensure you have an optimal and enjoyable experience with us. This data, consisting of names, emails, phone numbers, date of birth, is secured with our booking vendor, Tripworks, and subject to their privacy policies as well. Any banking data, needed only to secure payment for services, is collected via Tripwork's online payment platform, Stripe, and is secured and bound by their privacy policies as well as terms and conditions.
